I attended a massive photo walk set up by Trey Ratcliff, Thomas Hawk and a couple of Google+ folks such as Brian Rose in Stanford last week. I have participated in a few of those walks in the past but none of them had turnout like this. Not even close. So I think it is justified calling it “massive” - just because of the sheer number of attendees. By one count there were 183 photo walkers.
As you can imagine it was rather busy at the beginning. Every interesting subject was surrounded by numerous photographers. So I quickly decided to walk off in a different direction and after some time I hardly saw any other photographers any more. For the last 90 minutes or so I was completely by my own. I probably missed many opportunities meeting interesting and talented other local photographers though.
Below is the first shot from the photo walk. It is a view of the Memorial Church through a pair of arches. If you look closely you can even see another photographer setting up a shot. But you probably have to click on the photo to get a larger version for spotting him.
