At the end of a year I like going back and review the photos I made during the year. My goal is to pick my ten personal favorites; which can be is a hard thing to do - at least for me. I started this back in 2009 and with now three annual favorite sets it becomes an intriguing tool for documenting how my photography has changed. When I compare this year’s selection to my ten favorites of 2010 or to my ten favorites of 2009 it is obvious that my interest and therefore photography has changed rather significantly. 2011 was mostly dominated by monochrome architecture or landscape photography with only a few color photos in between. A fair amount of long exposure shots made it on the list too. I started to appreciate monochrome photography as it allows me to better focus on composition, light, patterns and structures without the (often) distracting colors.
Anyway, here are my ten personal favorites of 2011. You can also view them in a very nice lightbox gallery on my Google+ account.
