Winter in California
We spent last weekend a wonderful sunny day at the Half Moon Bay State Beach - one of my favorite places in the San Francisco Bay Area. If you think about it Winter in California isn’t all that bad, isn’t it?

DMU Photo Walk
Last weekend I went on another photowalk in San Francisco with a group of fine photographers of flickr’s DMU group. We met at the UN Plaza and covered quite some ground. Starting in the Tenderloin area we made our way through China Town to the Embarcadero. After an excellent Thai style dinner at the Osha Lounge we walked along the Embarcadero towards the Hi-Dive bar where the walk ended.

This is the fifth and last shot from my recent Almaden Quicksilver Historic Trail project. I hope you enjoyed this little series as much as I had fun visiting the places and making those shots.

Ruins at Almaden Quicksilver County Park
Almaden Quicksilver County Park has to be my most favorite park in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have hiked there at least 400 times, probably even closer to 500 times. The park is a gem in the south of Silicon Valley. It offers many great trails with good elevation gains, excellent views of the valley and a large variety of wildlife such as deer, wild boar, skunks, coyotes, rattle snakes, bobcats...

Holiday Break Hike
Over the holiday break I was hiking at my favorite local park (Almaden Quicksilver County Park) several times for a small photography project I wanted to complete for some time now. I will post about this project later. Because it was raining quite a bit I had to time my visits such to not get into extended periods of heavy rain as the area can get muddy quickly and my camera equipment...

Leftovers
So I finally found a little time (and muse) to start reviewing some of the remaining photos I made last year. I found a couple of architectural shots I took during a meetup in San Francisco back in August 2010. Because I spent a great deal of time with architecture photography last year and I still like them I decided to post them. All are from the Embarcadero, a truly amazing place.
So here...

Portrait session
So I thought it would be time again to make a few photos of my three year old daughter Emma. In particular as she was due for a hair cut and then her lovely long hair would be history (for a while at least). Well she was interested to cooperate for about five minutes then she lost interest. But I continued shooting and managed to get a few shots a really like. This is one of them.
